I’am a mega proud owner of a Mac Mini since a month ago. I waited patiently until Apple released a Mac Mini version with an HDMI output so I could enjoy playing mkv files in a 42″ plasma Panasonic Viera. I also have an eyeTV hybrid from elgato plugged in so I can watch and record TV programs. I use mainly VLC as my player but sometimes is easier to launch some useful apps as Boxee, XBMC or Plex. All these apps can be controlled with the Apple remote or even with my iPhone. Before I could build this setup, my media life depended on PS3 with PS3 Media Server transcoding mkv files on the fly, but that’s for another post. Continue reading »
